Play-Set Tarp?
Play-set tarps are common with better outdoor play-sets. They help protect children by
keeping direct sun and rain off them.
These tarps can cover a variety of outdoor play equipment from swing-sets to entire outdoor play areas.
Over time, even the best tarpaulins can become damaged by too much exposure to the sun (think of what it would do to the kids!) or by severe
weather conditions such as windstorms. And, sometimes, they just plain wear out or become ragged looking.
These tarps not only keep our kids dry and safe from harmful UV rays, they also help preserve an often hefty investment in the play
equipment itself so you can pass it along to another generation or even sell it to recoup part of your investment.
Of all the components of a play-set or swing-set - tarps are among the most economical. What to look for:
First, measure your old tarp to be sure to get the right size. Note how it is attached. Usually the tarpaulin will have several grommets - be
sure you check to see how far apart they are. While it's possible to put a grommet in yourself, you'll want to avoid this if at all possible.
Most tarp suppliers can easily add any grommets you need, but you should let them know when you place your order.
Additionally, you may want to consider getting a tarp that has been treated so it's mildew resistant. This is especially important if the
play-set is in a shady area or near anyplace that is often warm and moist. If you're uncertain, opt for the treated tarp anyway as in most cases,
it doesn't hurt.
A play-set or swing-set tarp offers many benefits including added protection from the elements for both children and equipment. Not only can
it extend the life of your play-set but can add many hours of fun and enjoyment for your children.
